Welcome!
“Through art, the relics of history, and the detritus of nature, we may glimpse the tapestry of the Grand Design — however fleetingly.”
–from the journal of Dr. Mycanae T. Consonant
The purpose of this website is to share the progress of an ongoing project involving an inherited collection of artifacts and objects that once belonged to the (long-defunct) New Museum of the Pacific, a “dime museum” located in Piedmont, California, owned and operated by the amazing Dr. Mycanae T. Consonant.
Thanks to all who attended the exhibition of (part of) what remains of the original collection: Dr. Consonant Collects: Selected Objects from A Repository of Wonders was held at Annapolis Region Community Arts Council’s ARTsPLACE Mym Gallery during September, 2011.
Pictures from the exhibit can be found by clicking here. The staff is now back to work cleaning, archiving, and researching more objects to add to the Repository. We look forward to sharing the collection with you in person again soon. Until then, please browse the pages here to immerse yourself in the Repository of Wonders.
